Capilano Suspension Bridge
The modern version is 460 feet (140 m) longsimple suspension bridge
Built entirely without towers or piers, this type of swing bridge swings 230 feet (70 m) above the Capilano River in North Mid-Vancouver.West Coast Rainforest.
And you can walk on it!
Osubtle oscillationand the vivid sight really gets your heart rate up, resulting in one of the most unique sightseeing experiences you'll ever have.
But it does not stop there.
Capilano Suspension Bridge Park is also home to thethe largest private collection of totem poles in the worldIt hosts many seasonal events and is a history lesson with exhibits explaining the area's history and First Nations past.

The opening of the Cliff Walk gave the area a second major attraction in June 2011.
What you get here is the chance to walk through the heights of the forest in20 inch wide decks, bridges and stairs that jut directly out of the side of a granite cliff.
Your heart will skip a beat with the gnashing of teethglass floorpart.
With only 16 anchor points along the entire route (an engineering marvel and an environmental necessity), you'll swear you're seconds from death.

Treetop Adventure
Let's start with eight 60,000-pound Douglas fir trees from the forest that are old enough to remind you of the 1750s, right?
Now what we want to do is connect them with seven suspension bridges and give ordinary people aadventure tourcommoneagle eye viewof the trees and forest floor without inducing full panic mode like our previous two tremor inducers.
At Treetops Adventure, you'll walk 110 feet above the forest floor and smell cedar in the air.
The best part of all?
Before long, the ancient trees were pierced with screws or nails, meaning they will remain healthy for years to come. In addition, the lure adapts to future tree growth.

Rio Capilano comes from an anglicized version of the indigenous wordki'palano(beautiful river).
Scottish developerGeorge Grant Mackaypurchased property on both sides of the North Vancouver River Gorge (Capilano Canyon) to build the first bridge withhemp ropemicedar planks.
After Mackay's death, the bridge changed hands several times and the new wire cable version wasbuilt in 1903.
In the 1920s, the locals began calling iteighth wonder of the world.
However, it wasn't until 1983 that it turned from a chance stop to a destination attraction, under the stewardship of owner Nancy Stibbard.
